Warm white-sand beaches and calming turquoise blue waters are just some of the things that await you on a tour to Hawaii with The Day We Travel. This 3-island getaway takes you to Oahu, The Big Island, and Maui, where you'll see lush valleys and dramatic cliffs; tour historic landmarks and memorials; visit volcanic parks and waterfalls; and taste local food & drink. Explore the many natural wonders; experience an intimate luau with storytelling through music and dance; visit Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial; tour a traditional fruit farm and Kona coffee plantation; and so much more.

There will also be activities that are off-the-beaten path, such as the opportunity to create your own flower lei in Oahu, partake in a local culinary tour around the island of Maui, including a rum distillery, and sample Hawaiian sweetbread that has been around since the ‘70s on the Big Island. With an eclectic mix of guided activities and time on your own, you sure don’t want to miss this vacation of a lifetime in paradise!

Total Cost of Tour is $3,850.00 (land with inter-island flights included) based on double occupancy per person (2 people to a room).

Single supplement: add $850 to the tour cost of double occupancy rate.

Half the tour cost after $250 deposit ($1,800) is due by March 24, 2023. The other half ($1,800) is due by July 21, 2023.

Flights between the islands are included in the cost of the tour. However, *Airfare to and from Hawaii is sold separately. Some guests may prefer to book independently, or airfare can be booked through The Day We Travel. There is a 10% service charge on top of the total cost of airfare. DEPOSIT POLICY: A $250.00 per person deposit is required to secure a reservation for your tour, which is not considered firm until the deposit is received. The deposit, however, is fully refundable if you cancel within 72 hours of booking the tour. All cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Email your cancellation to dewi@thedaywetravel.com. After 72 hours, the deposit becomes non-refundable and standard cancellation fees apply. See cancellation fee schedule below.

DAY-TO-DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1 – Arrive Honolulu -Hotel Check-in - Welcome Dinner

Aloha! Welcome to paradise! Meet your Tour Director at the airport and transfer to your beautiful accommodations for the next 3 nights in Waikiki Beach. Enjoy lunch on your own, catch an afternoon siesta on your balcony, or explore the grounds of the hotel. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner, the first of many delicious meals together with your fellow travelers, your new ohana (family). Meals – (D) Overnight: Waikiki Resort Hotel or similar

DAY 2 – Pearl Harbor – Rum tasting tour – Downtown Honolulu     

Hit the ground running with a tour of Pearl Harbor. Listen to a narration of the devastating air attack of December 7, 1941, explore the grounds’ exhibits, and ride the ferry to the USS Arizona, the final resting place of 1,102 sailors on that fateful day. This afternoon enjoy dining at a local restaurant, followed by a private tasting tour at an Agricole rum distillery. Cheers! Then, on to Punchbowl National Cemetery with its gorgeous views of Honolulu. Other sights include the Hawaii State Capitol, royal ‘Iolani Palace, and the statue of Kamehameha the Great. DAY 3 – Circle Island Tour – North Shore – Polynesian Cultural Center-Dole Plantation                                                                                                                   

Enjoy local Hawaiian culture and lore from a certified local guide on this majestic tour of the island. Take in the coastal views as we travel up the windward side and onwards to Byodo-in, a Buddhist temple that commemorates the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. This afternoon, tantalize your taste buds with local cuisine that’s included on tour. Continue along the North Shore, see the famous beaches, and stop by the Dole Plantation for a taste of its world famous Dole Whip! Meals - (B, L)  Overnight: Waikiki Resort Hotel or similar

DAY 4 – Fly to Kona – Coffee Farm Tour & Tasting – Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau Park

Bid Oahu farewell as you board your flight to the “Big Island.” Continue south to explore the lush fields that produce 100% Kona coffee. Learn the history of the farm and the processing of the coffee before sampling some yourself! Then visit to an historic park that was once the home of royal grounds and a sacred place of refuge for ancient Hawaiian lawbreakers. Meals - (B)  Overnight: Royal Kona Resort or similar

DAY 5 – Free morning - Botanical Farm-to-Table Tour & Lunch - Sunset Dinner Cruise

Start the day with a leisurely morning to yourself. Find a special spot to soak up the tropical sun or cuddle up to a book poolside. Then, make your way to an organic botanical food forest where sustainability and self-sufficiency are key. Learn about tropical farming as you meander through the gardens where a delicious farm-to-fork meal awaits. Then later this afternoon, arrive in Kealakekua Bay and sail down the Kona coast into the sunset. While onboard, discover Hawaii’s rich history as a local historian points out historic sites and enjoy a Hawaiian-style buffet dinner, a complimentary cocktail, and live entertainment. DAY 6 - Volcanoes National Park - Akaka Falls State Park   

Today, experience some of nature’s most awe-inspiring wonders at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Located on the east end of the island, the park is home to two volcanoes including Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes on earth. Discover walking trails through volcanic craters and lava rock, see colorful mineral deposits, and smell volcanic gases that seep out of the ground. Delight in lunch at the historic Volcano House with views of Halema'uma'u Crater. Later this afternoon, take a brief walk to see Akaka Falls, arguably Hawaii’s most famous waterfall, which plummets 442 feet into a stream-eroded gorge.

DAY 7 - Fly to Maui - Lahaina Historic Town

Say good-bye to “The Big Island” and aloha to “The Valley Isle,” the second largest Hawaiian island on your flight to Maui. Drive to the lush `Iao Valley’ to see the iconic 1,200-ft `Iao Needle, a spectacular volcanic spire. Take in the beauty on a leisurely walk along the lookout trail and learn the historical significance of the place. Then visit historic Lahaina, a former whaling village turned Maui hotspot that’s home to the world’s largest Banyan tree. Continue to Kāʻanapali Beach where your home for the next three nights awaits. Meals - (B) Overnight: Napili Shores Maui by Outrigger or similar

DAY 8 - Private Culinary Tour – Rest of Day at Leisure

This morning have a light breakfast and be sure to bring an appetite as we explore the island through gastronomy, the art of good food & drink. Start with hand-roasted coffee, visit “The Napa Valley” of Hawaii, a 23-acre vineyard where we enjoy a farm-to-table lunch and wine-tasting at Ulupalakua Ranch, and end at Kula Country Farm, a four-generation family-owned farmers market with freshly grown Maui produce, flowers, and locally-made specialty products. DAY 9 - Day at leisure - Luau Farewell Dinner

Enjoy a free day in Maui. Perhaps take an optional excursion to Haleakalā National Park, site of the 10,023-ft tall volcanic Haleakalā Crater and home to what may be the most spectacular sunrise on earth. Another option is the famous “Road to Hana,” one of the world’s most impressive drives, with 54 bridges and numerous waterfalls. This evening, feast on an exotic and gourmet menu featuring five epicurean courses from the Polynesian Island nations of Hawaii, New Zealand, Tahiti and Samoa during a sit-down, full service, royal tour of Polynesian cuisine. DAY 10 - Transfer to airport for flights home

  • Airfare - **Please note** You will fly to Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu -Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and fly home from Kahului Airport (OGG) on the island of Maui. Depending on where you live, it might be worth your time and peace of mind to fly to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) the evening before the tour begins. There are non-stop flights from LAX to HNL, which have you arrive in HNL sometime after lunch. If you book independently, please arrive to HNL sometime between 1:00-2:00 PM Hawaiian Standard Time (HST). Return flights from Maui (OGG) should be scheduled after 10:00 AM HST. Airfare can be booked through The Day We Travel. Note: there is a 10% service fee added to the total cost of the airfare.
